The Creole Nature Trail is a 180-mile stretch of road through what the locals call "the Louisiana Outback" - 184,000 acres of wildlife refuge designated as one of the first National Scenic Byways by the U.S. Secretary of Transportation.

Lloyd's Country Store
An old homestead turned into a collector's paradise, Lloyd's Country Store is filled with memorabilia from the days gone by. From old gas pumps and signage to farm equipment and classic cars, at Lloyd's there's something for every collector. No matter what they collect.
Located at 318 Phillips Road in Westlake, LA, Lloyd's is open the first and third Friday and Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., or by appointment. For information, call 337-540-3925.
National Wildlife Refuge Complex
Established to preserve and protect wintering waterfowl and their natural habitat, this refuge was the first to be established under the North American Waterfowl Management Plan. It contains over 184,000 acres of fresh marsh, costal prairie, and former rice fields.

Mardi Gras Museum
Proof that New Orleans doesn't have a monopoly on Mardi Gras. Officially named "the Mardi Gras Museum of Imperial Calcasieu", this Lake Charles cultural institution features an outstanding collection of Mardi Gras costumes. You'll even be able to climb aboard an authentic Mardi Gras parade float.
Located inside the Central School Arts & Humanities Center, 809 Kirby Street, Lake Charles, LA 70601.
Hours are Tues.-Fri. 1-5 p.m.
